MLB 25 Team Affinity Is Different
First of all, as we mentioned before, the way to get these player cards in Team Affinity this year is completely different from the way it was in MLB 24. Previously you could play Conquest and Showdown and maybe do a few swaps and get a couple Diamond cards, but when you look in Team Affinity My Journey Program in MLB The Show 25, these things are nowhere to be found.
Meanwhile, a lot of people have complained that these cards from Team Affinity aren’t as good compared to Minnesota Twins cards they used to get. While we have a chance here to get a Jim Kaat 86 overall Jolt card, who is certainly a good pitcher, the key here is obviously Captain Boost. If you have this Minnesota Twins card on your team, you’ll get more Contact boost, Batting Clutch, and Hit Per boost for your pitcher.
Beyond that, there are some interesting things to know about the Captains in MLB 25. Because some of them are really good in their own right and worth having on your team, but these Captain cards tend to be pretty much the same in terms of boosts. While they all differ in the degree of Contact boost, Batting Clutch, and Hit Per, those are the only attributes they boost.

Choose Programs
The first thing players have to do is to choose one or two Team Affinity Programs to work on. However, if you can’t get a squad of players from one team, then this is when it makes sense to do a second Team Affinity Program at the same time. Since you now have Silver cards from both programs in your squad, you can fill in your squad with players from either team. This means you can build your team with minimal MLB The Show 25 Stubs, which is great for players with limited budgets.
Unlock Rewards Track
Next, once you have built your team, all you need to do is pay attention to all the tasks under My Journey rewards track and complete them as much as possible. But don’t worry, these tasks are very basic. Basically, you just need to lead your team to achieve hits, runs, and strikeouts in MLB 25. You can easily advance the rewards track in My Journey and earn a lot of TA points.
It is worth noting that when you complete the team’s initial Moment tasks and get a Silver card, you can also get a certain amount of Parallel XP. - Play vs CPU: You can also choose to earn TA points in the game mode against CPU. If you want to try this mode, it is recommended that you first choose White Sox as your opponent, because the challenge difficulty of this team is lower, which will help you improve the efficiency of grinding. Also, don’t forget to play at Rockies’ Coors Field, as your chances of hitting a home run are higher in this ballpark.
